Annual General Meeting of Teachers’ Association of Eastern University - 2023

The Annual General Meeting of TAEU was held on June 21, 2023, at Nalaiah Auditorium of EUSL with the participation of hundred and seventy-six members. Dr. T. Sathaananthan president for the period of 2022/2023 gave presidential address. Mr M.Ravi, secretary presented the Annual Report and Minutes of the former AGM. Mr. K. Ravichandran, Treasurer presented the financial report. The second volume of TAEU magazine “Voice of East” was launched by Editor Mr S.Santharooban. Dr. T.Geretharan delivered the book review for the magazine. New office bearers and committee members were selected. Prof. J. Kennedy was selected as the new president and Mr S.Santharooban was elected as new secretary for the period of 2023/2024.

Sponsorship to SLUG 2023

With the aim of extending our support to the Sri Lankan University Games (SLUG 2023), the Teachers’ Association of Eastern University (TAEU) sponsored Rs. 100,000/- to Eastern University. Professor J. Kennedy, President of TAEU, handed over the cheque to the Vice Chancellor of EUSL on 24th August 2023. The office bearers of TAEU and the Deputy Vice Chancellor were present at the event. The Vice Chancellor expressed appreciation to TAEU for their generous sponsorship. TAEU takes pride in announcing that this marks the first instance in the history of EUSL where a trade union has provided sponsorship for a university event.

Opening of TAEU office @ EUSL

Teachers' Association of Eastern University, Sri Lanka (TAEU) hosted a ceremonial opening of their new office at EUSL on 12.11.2021 @ EUSL. The new office was opened by Prof. F. C. Ragel, Vice Chancellor, and Mr. T Sathaananthan, President, TAEU. Dr. T. Prabakaran , Secretary of TAEU, Registrar, Bursar , President of EUEU and members of TAEU participated in the event.
